BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS SERVICE CATEGORY (Include scope, size, and cost) <br />The County of Maui Department of Public Works selected HHF <br />to prepare a wayfinding plan and identify roadway safety <br />improvements that will encourage active modes of <br />transportation in Kahului. The project, titled Hele Kakou <br />Kahului, is a pilot project and includes the development of a f <br />wayfinding signage manual that will guide the implementation - J <br />of wayfinding improvements around the County. The proposed ff <br />roadway safety improvements will be focused along key routes <br />identified in the wayfinding system and will complement other <br />Complete Streets implementation projects that have been <br />recently completed or are underway. <br />Hele Kakou Kahului involves extensive secondary research, <br />consultation with a range of stakeholders, and the use of online <br />workshops, surveys, and interactive maps to develop a <br />wayfinding system that fits the needs and desires of the Kahului <br />community.
