<br /> Erika(Stein)Espaniola is an award-winning historic preservation planner and archaeologist recognized for her leadership roles in the practice of
<br /> cultural resource management,preservation and stewardship. Erika has 20 years of experience as an archaeologist, 18 of those years based in
<br /> Hawaii,and more than a decade of work in other fields of cultural resources and historic preservation including anthropology,ethnohistory,cultural
<br /> landscapes,architectural history,and historic preservation planning.As a former Superintendent of Kalaupapa National Historical Park,she has
<br /> extensive experience working with a broad range of stakeholders throughout Hawaii and internationally. In 2020, Erika was awarded the National

<br /> Cultural Resources Lead and Archaeology Subject Matter Expert. Responsibilities on project Baseline field inventory was needed of both
<br /> terrestrial and underwater archaeology. Both archaeological surveys necessitated coordination with subcontractors,including underwater
<br /> geophysical survey results to inform the underwater archaeological survey.The larger project also includes four other resource disciplines.The
<br /> baseline studies are being done to support potential infrastructure improvements.

<br /> addresses the routine,minor projects done by HDOT Highways and how those projects will be addressed through the regulatory process.Within
<br /> this project,consultation with a wide array of stakeholders throughout Hawaii was needed, in addition to producing several drafts and before
<br /> finalizing the agreement. Consultation was also executed by using a web platform to aid in the accessibility and ease of receiving comments.

<br /> on consulting with Native Hawaiian Organizations(NHOs).The document is prepared for a Project Manager who does not have a professional
<br /> background in Historic Preservation.The documents is written primarily under the purview of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act
<br /> but also addresses Chapter 6E of Hawaii Revised Statutes(HRS).
