(808) 471-4616 <br /> • A human health risk assessment, which included an evaluation of all potential exposure scenarios <br /> (recreational, residential, and commercial), determined that risks to recreational and commercial receptors <br /> were acceptable, but residential use would require further evaluation due to localized PCB contamination <br /> encountered in a few trenches excavated within the landfill. <br /> • An ecological risk assessment, which included a biological survey and an evaluation of potential hazards to <br /> aquatic and terrestrial habitats in the adjacent wetland area, determined that risks to ecological receptors <br /> were within acceptable limits. <br /> A Proposed Plan (PP) and Decision Document (DD) were completed noting regulator and Navy concurrence on <br /> the preferred remedial approach for the site of land use controls (LUCs) for future recreational and/or <br /> commercial use. A Remedial Action Work Plan (RAWP) was prepared that describes short- and long-term <br /> implementation actions (i.e., LUCs) and responsibilities for the actions to ensure long-term viability of the <br /> remedy. A Remedial Action Completion Report (RACR) was prepared that documented that the remedial action <br /> objective in the DD has been achieved; the requisite institutional controls are in place; annual/as-needed site <br /> inspections, maintenance, and 5-year reviews have been initiated; and that the site is protective of human health <br /> and the environment. As part of the site closure, a total of 14 monitoring wells installed by E2 and previous <br /> consultants were decommissioned,and a Monitoring Well Decommissioning Summary Report was prepared. <br /> 23.
