VITOUSEK:Madam Commissioner this is the map that is the Waimea Trails and <br />Greenways map and if I may, this is Parker School right there. And so, what this map is showing <br />is that Parker School is going to make available across its land this segment of the trail. <br />SIRACUSA:This dark line? <br />VITOUSEK:The dark line is the trail. <br />SIRACUSA:Represents the trail. <br />VITOUSEK:Thats correct. <br />SIRACUSA:Okay. <br />VITOUSEK:AndsowhatIthinkshesreferringtois,youcanseethetrailconnects <br />residential communities on both sides of Parker School. It goes out to Kuhio Village here which <br />is the Hawaiian Homelands community. <br />WOODELL:Show on the map there? <br />VITOUSEK:Sure. Excuse me, Ill try to show it on the map. <br />HAYASHI:Mr. Vitousek is referring to their exhibit M. <br />VITOUSEK:Thats correct. I dont know how to fix it up. Commissioner Siracusa so I <br />think that if you see on exhibit M where that, where that trail is located. That trail currently does <br />not exist. And so what the plan is, is for that trail to link different residential communities on <br />either side of the urban core of Waimea so the kids could ride their bikes or walk to school. In <br />other words so kids would not have to, I mean it would be open for general use but so that, that <br />kids would have the opportunity of walking to school or riding their bicycles to school and not <br />be on the highway. And so, that, the idea there is that by creating bike paths and walking trails <br />that would reduce traffic because people could walk or ride their bikes to school. <br />SIRACUSA:Okay I get it. Thank you for clarifying that, that statement. I had another <br />question and that was in the intervenors exceptions, number 2, under thats, this is the request <br />for oral argument. It states that the applicant, Parker School, has undertaken construction <br />without a permit on part of the 12 acre parcel outside the proposed use permit location. Would <br />you care to address that statement please? <br />VITOUSEK:If its okay Commissioner, if its okay with the Chair I will ask Mr. <br />Sturges to address that because he is the CEO of Parker School and is better able to (inaudible) <br />directly. <br />GALDONES:Proceed. <br />EXHIBIT A <br />12 <br /> <br />
