The property is located at the <br />th <br />northwestern corner of Kaloli Drive and 14 Avenue, and adjacent to the existing JJŒs Self <br />Storage facility, Hawaiian Paradise Park Subdivision, Keaau, Puna, Hawaii, TMK: 1-5-46:120. <br />ALAMEDA:What we have before us is a discussion. We have John and Jeanne Vurich <br />(SPP 04-017). This is a discussion and action on the Hearing Officer€s report on a Special <br />Permit to allow the establishment of a self-storage facility with perimeter chain link fencing and <br />landscaping on one acre of land situated in the State Land Use Agricultural District. I€ll just give you a <br />briefchronologyastothisparticularapplication.Asyourecall,thehearingonthisapplication <br />was first heard on April 1, 2005. And at that time there was a request by a James Larry <br />SchneiderandaSarahHarlanforapetitiontobecomeapartyinthisproceeding.Petitionswere <br />granted by the Planning Commission. However, on August 12, 2005 Mr. Schneider withdrew <br />hisrequesttobeapartyinasmuchashewasintheprocessofsellinghisproperty.The <br />Commission also voted to outsource the hearing to a hearings officer; and Mr. Thomas Yeh was <br />selectedasthehearingsofficerforthePlanningCommission.Mr.Yehconductedahearingon <br />August 24, 2005 at which time all of the parties were represented.
