STATE OF HAWAII <br />DEPARTMENT OF LAND AND NATURAL RESOURCES <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br />ON PROPOSED SET ASIDE OF APPROXIMATELY 342 ACRES AS AN EXTENSION OF <br />THE PUU MAKAALA NATURAL AREA RESERVE, TMK 2-4-08:09 POR, SOUTH HILO, <br />HAWAII, AND A PROPOSED SET ASIDE OF APPROXIMATELY 169 ACRES AS AN <br />EXTENSION OF THE KIPAHOEHOE NATURAL AREA RESERVE, TMK 8-8-01:08 POR, <br />SOUTH KONA, HAWAII <br />DATE: June 5, 2014 <br />TIME: 6:30 p.m. <br />PLACE: Cafeteria, Volcano School of Arts & Sciences 99-128 Old Volcano Road <br />Volcano, Hawaii 96785-0845 <br />The Department of Land and Natural Resources, State of Hawaii, pursuant to Chapter 195, <br />Hawaii Revised Statutes, will hold a public hearing on Hawaii Island to receive testimony on the <br />subject proposed Natural Area Reserve extensions. <br />Copies of the nominations and maps of the areas are available for inspection. Any person may <br />testify or present information at the public hearing. If you desire to attend the above meeting and <br />require auxiliary aids (taped materials or sign language interpreter) please request assistance 10 <br />working days prior to hearing. Persons unable to attend or wishing to present additional <br />comments, may mail written testimony received no later than June 19, 2014.
