HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES <br />THIRTIETH LEGISLATURE, 2019 <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />H.B. NO. ZS <br />A BILL FOR AN ACT <br />RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY. <br />BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII: <br />1 SECTION 1. Chapter 134, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is <br />2 amended by adding a new section to part I to be appropriately <br />3 designated and to read as follows: <br />4 <br />"§134- Prohibition in hotel rooms. (a) Notwithstanding <br />5 sections 134-9, 134-23 to 134-25, and 134-27, it shall be <br />6 unlawful for any person, including a guest, to store, keep, <br />7 carry, or possess any firearm or ammunition in any hotel room <br />8 assigned to a guest. <br />9 (b) Any person violating this section shall be guilty of <br />10 a <br />11 (c) For purposes of this section, "guest" and "hotel" <br />12 shall have the same meaning as those terms are defined in <br />13 section 486K-1." <br />14 SECTION 2.
