C. Expected Results and Benefits <br />Increase in the number and distribution of game in the West Hawaii District by expanding their range to <br />areas where there is no current permanent water source. The result of this improvement will be increased <br />game harvest and hunter success. Hunter check stations and signs will provide hunter effort and success. <br />Construction and improvements to check stations will be done to ensure data can be collected <br />appropriately. <br />D. Need <br />With the expansion of the Kula Forest Reserve/Hunting Unit C, the potential acquisition of an additional <br />8,000 acres of public hunting areas on Maui; and increased hunting pressure within the Molokai Forest <br />Reserve/Hunting Units C, D, and E, there is a need for additional facilities and infrastructure for <br />recreational hunting, such as game bird water units, signs and markers, hunter check stations, game bird <br />holding pens, game bird feeder units and additional fencing. Expansion of the Lanai Cooperative Game <br />Management Area (Unit 3) also creates a need for additional facilities. <br />B. Objective <br />36 <br />
