APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE October 27, 2023 MEETING – Clyde <br />Silva, Committee Chair motion to approve the minutes of the meeting. Motion to <br />accept the minutes by Lisa McNamarra, and seconded by Judy Bell. Unanimously <br />approved. <br /> <br />5. COMMENTS FROM THE COMMITTEE VICE CHAIR – Clyde Silva <br />Clyde thanked the committee for all that they do. <br /> <br />6. EXECUTIVE ON AGING REPORT AND UPDATES – Horace Farr <br />1. Continue to interview for the Database Analyst position. We will be <br />interviewing two applicants. <br /> <br />2. We are preparing to submit our Fiscal Year 2024 -2025 budget to finance. <br />HCOA is scheduled for budget review on December 12, 2023. <br /> <br />3. Reminded the COA about the annual report to the Mayor. Time will be set <br />aside in today’s meeting to come up with a set of draft recommendations. <br /> <br />7. POLICY ADVISORY BOARD OF ELDERLY AFFAIRS – Shelly Ogata <br />Each month PABEA will be reviewing the 4 County Area Plans. Last month was <br />Hawaiʻi Countyʻs Plan, and Mr. Horace Farr, Executive on Aging provided a great <br />presentation. The committee looked at similarities and/or differences amongst the <br />counties and will develop possible recommendations for the Executive Office on <br />Aging (EOA). PABEA is also considering legislative priorities as Kupuna Caucus <br />is collecting bill ideas for the next session. If there are any legislative priority bills <br />that are ready to be submitted, and want to be considered for the Kupuna Caucus <br />package, it is due by next week. Mr. Farr mentioned the deadline for next week is <br />for ideas to be discussed and then voting will occur with the top 5 ideas to be <br />included in the Kupuna Caucus package. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
