Aloha, <br /> I am writing this letter in opposition of the proposed 400- acre development in Punalu'u. As <br /> some one who grew up spending time at my families property on the beach at Punalu'u since I <br /> was a young child, I have witnessed the importance of preserving the area for future <br /> generations and the people of Hawaii. The proposed development represents everything that <br /> should be kept as far away from Ka'u as humanely possible. The developers only concern is <br /> profit and exploitation of an area that has continued to been undeveloped for hundreds of years. <br /> There has not been the proper due diligence to allow such a development to even be <br /> considered by the state of Hawaii and its unscrupulous officials. The people have woken and we <br /> will rise to meet any opposition who stand in the way of justice and sovereignty <br /> Kahea Iona <br />
