Takase: Yes. So, she can amend the main motion, yes.
Okabe: Amend the main motion of what you're saying so that we can vote on the
amendment, and then move it forward that way.
Wilkinson: Okay.
Okabe: Then that way we kind of like in a situation where there's some caveats, so the
next time they come again, we'll have all that taken place, but I understand what you're
saying though, that's a good point.
Wilkinson: So, do I just second with the amendment, how does that work?
Okabe: No, there already has been a motion.
Takase: So, technically she would make an amendment to the motion, but being that
this is the State of Aloha, we have what's called friendly amendments where you can
accept her amendment to your motion, and we can go that way.
Wilkinson: But wouldn't she have to restate it though, so it's specifically noted for the
minutes?
Ahn: If we do the friendly Aloha way where you're accepting her amendment, then you
would restate it, so you would restate your motion as amended with her additional
conditions.
Wilkinson: Am I seconding the original with an amendment? Or am I moving to
amend the original motion? Moving to amend the original motion to approve this
extension, and note that any additional request for extensions, the good cause would
have to be circumstance out of their control.
Okabe: I accept your amendment.
Takase: You got that, Hau`oli?
Sayles: Do we need a second to this amendment motion?
Okabe: I thought we're doing a friendly.
Nishimoto: No, she restated it, she amended it, I just need a second.
Greenwell: I'll second it as amended.
MINUTES - LIQUOR COMMISSION MEETING - THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 11 2024 - KONA PAGE 26 OF 37
