Krisjan S Vancouver,WA
469. catherine m gibsons, ca way too much density in this proposal and new development
is far too close to the beach &pond-we firmly oppose the
added people, traffic, light pollution, noise, ocean activity,
policing, garbage and commercialization of a sacred pond.
This plan does not offer more safety for nesting turtles or for
their hatchlings-it plans for increased levels of human
activity right where they nest. You bought this land, but this
is not the place for a resort-the black sand cove where
humans can access the ocean safely is too important as an
ENDANGERED species essential nesting habitat The
proposal does not anticipate paying for the additional local
community infrastructure and servicing such a rural resort
would require. It did not work commercially as a golf resort-
it will not be a money maker for this owner either. You are
insulting the gods with this plan. You asked the community
what they wanted -and this proposal is a slap in the face to
locals
470. Kelley 0 Ocean View, HI I oppose commercial construction of a resort and other
buildings at Punalu'u beach. Ka'u and Punalu'u beach
especially is an important stretch of beach where the
endangered hawksbill sea turtles nest. They already face a
threat of further endangerment with the invasive mongoose
and feral cats that eat the eggs and hatchlings. There is an
ample amount of foot traffic with the thousands of humans
walking Punalu'u beach daily. I believe any further damage
to the natural ecosystem will be irreversible and detrimental.
474. Jane F Ocean View, HI No development at Punaluhu!
475.
