DESCRIPTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SETTING <br /> The property is coastal and rural, basically pasture and forest. It is slightly sloping towards the <br /> ocean, down slope from the road. <br /> B. RELATIONSHIP TO LAND USE PLANS, POLICIES,AND CONTROL OF AFFECTED AREA <br /> Land Use Plans & Policies <br /> The area is generally used for residential and agriculutural purposes and the proposed <br /> development is consistent with those uses. <br /> Natural Hazards <br /> Tsunami <br /> Existing Conditions <br /> The Project Site is not in a Fema recognized floor zone. The occurrence of a tsunami is <br /> unpredictable. Once generated, a tsunami's height can be monitored as it approaches <br /> land masses. The tsunami height at landfall will vary depending on the shoreline terrain <br /> and the nearshore water's depth. <br /> 16 <br />
