From: Claire N
To: W PCtesti mono
Subject: Opposing the Development in Ka'u
Date: Wednesday, March 6,2024 9:37:11 PM
To Whom it May Concern:
My name is Leonard Naboa Jr.I am 4th generation that was born&breed from Pahala,Hawaii(Ka'u)district.
From growing up in Ka'u I've learned from my past ancestors about the Hawaii plants and animals from the
mountains to the sea in Ka'u.I was not fortunate growing up but I was taught how to live off of the land&sea of
Ka'u.Also was taught to take care of the land&sea by not overfishing&over gathering plants. Also was taught to
replant&don't be greedy. This development proposal from the developer is being greedy.
I oppose the development in Ka'u as it will destroy all Hawaii plants&animals that cannot be brought back for the
present and future kids to enjoy and learn what I've learned about from my ancestors.Growing up I was taught how
to gather food that grew in the forest of Ka'u to survive and also to fish by net, boat,or shoreline of Punalu'u.This
beautiful&amazing place should be conserved as a national park for all those to enjoy&to prevent the
development that only seek out to destroy all animals&plants that cannot be even found throughout the rest of the
world! We don't want it to turn like the Mauna Lam where Hawaii residents(locals)can't go to visit the Hawaiian
fish ponds that is blocked in by the Mauna Lam resort! Please save my beautiful home Ka'u!
Mahalo!
