From: Christine Inserra <br /> To: W PCtesti mono <br /> Subject: Opposing Black Sands Beach LLC Punaluu developement <br /> Date: Wednesday,March 6,2024 8:23:28 AM <br /> Aloha, <br /> These are my bullet points for my testimony opposing the development in Punaluu: <br /> `Major development will forever alter and poison water shed and destroy ancheline ponds at <br /> the shoreline. <br /> `This will cause an increase in property taxes, denying another generation and forcing locals <br /> to move off island. <br /> `They will cut off beach access for locals forever altering a generational way of life. <br /> `This is to become a playground for the rich not the community of Ka'u. <br /> `There are no working fire hydrants so its a potential repeat scenario of the Lahaina fires. <br /> `waste water treatment and wells are outdated and non functioning. <br /> `Nesting areas of the endangered Hawksbill turtles will be disrupted and forever altered. <br /> `Zero infrastructure to support a development of this magnitude. <br /> `Our public servants are NOT serving the local community. <br /> *We want the clouded land titles to be cleared. <br /> *No infrastructure for emergency response, this is a lava zone one and frequent disasters have <br /> happened here, including a major tsunami in 1979. <br /> .....many many more reasons for this to not move forward.
