DeVera, Ashley
From: Yocum Account <nathanyocum@gmail.com>
Sent: Thursday, March 14, 2024 9:44 AM
To: Planning Internet Mail
Subject: Yes to Ka'u Special Permit
Aloha e Zendo,
I don't envy your position given the amount of negative attention the Ka'u Special Permit hearing has
received. I just want you to know that my family and I would love to see the permit approved.
We are residents of the Colony One complex. My wife's father golfed there every weekend until it closed
down. We have seen Eva do wonderful things (speed bumps to protect Nene, clearing beach parking,
etc).
The area around Punalu'u is desperate for revitalization. I am troubled by the amount of misinformation
coming from the protestors. They don't seem to understand that the coastline is protected no matter
what. They speak of the beauty of the area while ignoring derelict buildings and abandoned cars that
have become transient housing(there are active, permanent camps on both sides of Punalu'u).
Mahalo for taking the time to read this. I hope you make a decision in favor of development.
Sincerely,
Nathan Yocum
1
