From: Mark dos Remedios <br /> To: WPCtestimonv <br /> Subject: OPPOSITION to Black Sand Beach,LLC <br /> Date: Friday, May 3,2024 1:04:36 PM <br /> Good afternoon, <br /> I am writing in opposition to the proposed Black Sand Beach, LLC development in Punalu'u. <br /> The Ka'u district remains one of Hawaii's few unspoiled areas rich with native culture and <br /> nature conservation. Development such as that proposed by said organization will bring <br /> unnecessary traffic to the area, effectively damaging the native environment and causing <br /> undue burden to the natural resources. This development will also add a burden to the <br /> already taxed infrastructure of the area, increasing demands for power and water. <br /> The west side of Hawai'i island has already been commercialized and inundated with golf <br /> courses and development. I am moving my family to the east side of the island because of the <br /> beauty and unspoiled land that it is, not to see it turn in to what the majority of HawaiTs <br /> visitors are trying to escape when they visit. <br /> Mahalo for your consideration. <br /> Respectfully, <br /> Mark dos Remedios <br />
