From: Ken Honma
To: LPCtestimonv
Subject: Bill 121
Date: Wednesday, May 15,2024 12:15:27 PM
5/15/2024
Chairman Defranco,
This email is in reference to Bill 121. It is clear that the County Council has not done a full study of
the human, fiscal, and economic, impacts that this bill will have on the people who live in this
County. The hurry to control the lives and livelihoods of those who presently legally operate these
businesses and who are conforming to all existing requirements have outstripped the necessary and
required analysis by the County to fully understand the impacts that this bill will have on its citizens
and the County.
Therefore, I would like to see you the chair recommend the following in reference to Bill 121.
1) Return the bill to the County Council with a recommendation that they conduct a
comprehensive, academically rigorous economic impact study. Heather Kimball is also not
against this type of analysis "I'm not opposed at all". See( Leeward Video 8:12:31 )
2) Invite a member of the Ohana Aina Association to the table to answer questions as part
of the Q&A process.
I appreciate your support in allowing for a comprehensive and fair process and hearing. Let there be
no question as to Hawaii County's priorities with this demonstration of their commitment to a
comprehensive study; and further, with their resultant decision making concomitant with the
ascertained facts.
Sincerely,
Ken Honma
P.O.
