From: Andreana Soares
To: W PCtesti mono
Subject: Hope Dia-Mend Ministry
Date: Wednesday,June 26, 2024 5:30:44 PM
Andreana K Soares
PO Box 695
Keaau, Hawaii 96749
06/26/2024
Chairman Dennis Lin
Windward Planning Commission
101 Pauahi Street, Suite 3
Hilo, Hawai'i 96720
Dear Mr. Lin,
This testimony letter is in regard to Applicant: Hope Dia-Mend Ministries,App#PL-SPP-
2023-000058 and their positive influence and service to Ocean View residents and our Ka'u
community.
I would like to take this opportunity to say I appreciate everything Pastor Pam Ako and her
team of resilient members has done for me personally. I visited their church in November
2021 a few months after losing my husband to cancer, I was in search of something new and
different. They welcomed me,prayed for me,they provide for me as a widow just like the
Bible stated. Then I found out Pastor Lance died 6 months prior, yet Pastor Pam show signs of
resilience. I admired that so much, I needed someone to he me through the grieving process.
In return I offered to teach some women how to Honor God through Hula. I became their
teacher, as I healed a d used God's gift to teach. We as a church now ministered to the Body of
Christ and to the Community. Hope Dia-Mend was often invited to support families who
needed prayer, who wanted a dance present at a community event, celebration of life or other
conferences. Pastor Pam would pray, presented to the teams d we would just go and do
impromptu church services at homes, at parks or where we were called.
We chose to do good for the community the Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Many times we would pray for first time visitors, every gathering we fed the masses without
lack.
The love, compassion and dedication of THIS CHURCH is unmatched. I believe Hope Dia-
Mend is needed in Ka'u especially in Hawaiian Ocean View.
Mahalo for your time,
Andreana "Kumu Keala" Soares
