<br /> BIOGRAPHY:
<br /> Ron Terry, Ph.D., earned a B.A. in Geography in 1980 from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Supported by
<br /> a National Science Foundation grant, he received a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University, also in Geography, in
<br /> 1988. He was Assistant Professor of Geography at the University of Hawaii at Hilo from 1987-1992. During
<br /> his professorship he began his consulting business, and started full-time consulting in 1992. He remained an
<br /> Affiliate Professor at UH-Hilo and continues to occasionally lecture. He has been active on various State
<br /> boards and commissions related to environmental science, including the Marine and Coastal Zone Management
<br /> Advocacy Council (MACZAC), to which he was appointed by Governor Cayetano in 2000 and served on till
<br /> 2008; the Mauna Kea Management Board, to which he was appointed for two terms from 2004-2012; and the
<br /> State's Environmental Council, to which he was appointed in February 2016 by Governor David Ige and where
<br /> he helped lead revision of the State's EIS Administrative Rules. Terry has also served on the UH-Hilo
<br /> Chancellor's Advisory Council and Chancellor Selection Committee, as well as the boards of the award-
<br /> winning journal Environment Hawaii and the Nahelehele Dry Forest Working Group.
