<br /> learned from the best on one of the most complicated but highly successful
<br /> charrette processes in the country. Since then,we have refined and adapted
<br /> our charrette process for a variety of challenging situations to gain consensus
<br /> and effectively engage underserved communities. We've worked all over the
<br /> country, including over 30 communities in California. Over the years,we have
<br /> expanded beyond the charrette to develop our Community Engagement
<br /> Toolbox that includes a variety of techniques for effective communication,
<br /> both verbal and graphic.We like to say we design in public, and we adapt our
<br /> approach for each project to meet its and the community's individual needs.
