Department of Hawaiian Home Lands <br /> Anahola Settlement Plan <br /> ANAHOLA, KAUAI <br /> The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL) is proposing the Anahola Kuleana PROJECTS FACTS <br /> Homestead Settlement Plan to offer 110 homestead lots(14 Pastoral and 101 Subsistence Client:Department of Hawaiian <br /> Agriculture) on 462 acres on the Island of Kauai (figure 3). According to HAR Chapter Home Lands <br /> 10-3-30 Kuleana Homestead Leases, DHHL agrees to survey, stake and award lots and <br /> provide an unpaved roadway suitable to access the lots. As a non-traditional program, SERVICES PROVIDED <br /> the Kuleana Homestead Program places responsibilityfordevelopmentof infrastructure <br /> Planning& Environment <br /> in the hands of native Hawaiian beneficiaries. This arrangement provides beneficiaries <br /> land within a shorter time frame than the traditional DHHL awarding process, as well Community Facilitation <br /> as the opportunity to create a new self-sufficient community.
