<br /> Scanning/Modeling Project Manager - Mr. Sandia was responsible for managing the 3D laser scanning and
<br /> high-resolution color imaging that captured the 60,00 square foot building that serves as the main dining hall
<br /> a. for the school's Kapalama campus. The building's entire interior and exterior were surveyed, and the firm used
<br /> three different laser scanners-two terrestrial and one mobile mapping scanner-to complete the data capture
<br /> phase of the project in two days. The scans were processed using a combination of software that formatted,
<br /> registered, decimated, and readied the data for a full Revit model. The detailed Revit model was produced by
<br /> a subcontracting firm under the direction of SOH and provided to WRNS Studio, project architect, in three
<br /> weeks.

<br /> b. Sam O. Hirota, Inc. performed mobile laser scanning at the Varsity Center in Moiliili for the Kamehameha
<br /> Schools-owned property. Four buildings, totaling approximately 22,000 square feet, with various condition
<br /> challenges, were laser scanned and Revit modeled for current condition assessment and future
<br /> remodeling/renovation use by KS. Mr. Sandia field-managed the SOH scanning teams and office post-
<br /> processing of the scan data and delivered the laser scans and Revit model to the client.

<br /> Utilizing the NavVIS mobile scanning and imaging platform, Mr. Sandla digitally captured three interior
<br /> c. floors and most the exterior of the City and County of Honolulu Environmental Services' Kapolei Pump
<br /> Station in just under one hour to 5mm precision. The object of the demonstration project was to show City
<br /> officials an efficient, fast and safe method of capturing existing conditions of a complex City-maintained
<br /> building. Currently SOH and Env. Personnel are determining the best use of the scan and imaging data.

<br /> d The firm utilized a creative combination of 3D imaging sensors, powerful custom-built computers, and
<br /> innovative software to produce virtual 3D models of the fountain that can be used as the basis for repair,
<br /> restoration, 3D printing, and other conservation activities. Mr. Sandia was responsible for the photographic
<br /> documentation, taking over 1600 photos of the sculpture for later processing that produced a full-color 3D
<br /> model of Cascade. The project received the prestigious 2022 ACECH Engineering Excellence, Grand
<br /> Conceptor award, the American Council of Engineering Companies, Hawaii top engineering honor.
