Mayor's August 24, 2024 TS Hone Supplemental Emergency Proclamation <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br /> WHEREAS, current weather conditions and those expected over the next several days <br /> continue to pose an imminent threat which may likely result insubstantial injury or harm to the <br /> population ors santi 1 damage to or loss of property ors ial damage to or loss oft e <br /> environment; and <br /> WHEREAS, due tothe continued possibility of imminent disaster due to property <br /> damage and/or bodily injury to residents of Hawaii Island, and the need for government <br /> agencies and representatives from the private sector to mobilize and provide immediate services <br /> toour island residents, a Civil Defense state of emergency is authorized pursuant to Chapter <br /> 127A, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, as amended, and Chapter 7, Hawaii County Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, due tothe continued possibility of imminent disaster due to property <br /> damage and/or bodily injury to residents of Hawai'i Island, and the need for government <br /> agencies and representatives from the private sector to mobilize and provide immediate services <br /> toour island residents, a Civil Defense state of emergency is authorized pursuant to Chapters <br /> 127A, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, as amended, and Chapter 7, Hawai'i County Code. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, 1, MITCHELL D. ROTH, Mayor of the County of Hawai'i, do <br /> hereby proclaim and declare that a continued state of emergency exists due tothe threat of <br /> imminent disaster on Hawai'i Island, effective August 24, 2024,7-!�_p.m., Hawai'i standard <br /> time. <br /> FURTHER, with the cancelation of the Red Flag Warning, I hereby repeal the <br /> Emergency Rules adopted and promulgated on August 24, 2024, at 10:06 a.m. via the Mayor's <br /> .August 24, 2024 Tropical Storm Hone Emergency Proclamation and Emergency Rule effective <br /> -7 '6 Z- p.m., this 24"'day of August 2024. <br /> This Supplemental Emergency Proclamation shall be effective on August 24, 2024, and <br /> shall terminate in sixty(60) days unless terminated earlier or extended by a separate <br /> proclamation, whichever shall occur first. <br /> This Emergency Proclamation is effective at7,52- p.m., this 24'h day of August 2024. <br /> Mitchell D.
