Include the date of incorporation as a <br /> non-profit organization. <br /> Pohaha I Ka Lani's mission is to revitalize and advance indigenous Hawaiian culture. <br /> Established in 2001, and incorporated as a nonprofit in 2009, Pohaha I Ka Lani conducts place <br /> based land stewardship, cultural education, and community engagement at sacred places <br /> surrounding Waipi'o Valley (Hamakua District) and 'Ola'a (Puna District) on Hawai'i Island. We <br /> offer the community meaningful, enriching opportunities to malama 'aina and understand the <br /> significance of Waipi'o Valley as a wahi pana. <br /> Pohaha I Ka Lani has a longstanding commitment to malama 'aina through physical <br /> stewardship of land and collaboration with communities, government, and private agencies to <br /> preserve the Waipi'o Valley area. Board members and personnel include expert Hawaiian <br /> educators, natural resource managers, cultural practitioners, science educators, and <br /> agricultural leaders with extensive land stewardship experience. Members have impressive <br /> academic and cultural backgrounds including in depth knowledge of Waipi'o, Hamakua history, <br /> land stewardship, and traditional practices, including local songs, hula, and chants. <br /> 2.
