• Increasing equitable resilience to climate hazards will benefit historically marginalized <br />and frontline Engage communities (What does this mean?) and those that are vulnerable <br />to climate change impacts. <br />Energy & • Transportation <br />• Invest in renewable energy sources that are proven safe and affordable to the public to <br />reduce GHG emissions and increase energy resilience. <br />• Promote energy efficiency in buildings and transportation that are proven safe and <br />affordable to the public to reduce overall energy consumption and without increasing <br />regulations or fines <br />Biodiversity & Ecosystems <br />• Managed retreat strategies and new shoreline setback regulations would expand open <br />space along the shoreline to support coastal ecosystems such as anchialine pools <br />without hindering public access. <br />• Supporting conservation programs that are proven safe for the people and the <br />environment can help protect native species and habitats from climate change impacts <br />without hindering public access and without increasing regulations and fines. <br />• Strengthening measures to control and eradicate invasive species can help protect local <br />ecosystems. <br />• Enhance habitat connectivity to allow species to migrate in response to changing <br />environmental conditions without hindering public access and without increasing <br />regulations and fines. <br />Education & Capacity Building <br />• Build capacity for local government agencies by providing training and resources that <br />improve their ability to plan and implement climate adaptation initiatives without <br />increasing regulations and fines. <br />• Collaborate and coordinate with the County's Office of Sustainability, Climate, Equity, <br />and Resilience (OSCER). This is woke language and should be removed. <br />• Support research and monitoring efforts to better understand climate impacts and the <br />effectiveness of adaptation measures. (Please educate yourself on this false <br />narrative) <br />• Develop and implement educational programs to raise awareness about climate change <br />and adaptation strategies.
