2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: September 17, 2024 <br /> <br />Action: A motion to approve the minutest of September 17, 2024 was made <br />by R. Duerr and seconded by L. Turalde. The motion passed unanimously by <br />voice vote with 6 ayes. <br /> <br /> 3. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS: <br /> <br />LT: All in favor, the meeting minutes of the last – September passes, thank you. Moving on <br />to agenda item number 3 – Statements from the Public on agenda items. Do we have <br />anyone from the public here that would like to make any statements on our agenda <br />items? Oh, yes ma’am? <br /> <br />JK: My name is Jenn Kagiwada, I’m Council Member for District – 2, right here in Hilo, just <br />been wanting to come and attend one of your meetings because I’m very interested in <br />the work that you’re doing here and to hear what your discussing and I’m very <br />interested in this particular item. I’ve got a lot of constituent calls about the feral pigs, <br />everything in my district – animals coming into people’s yards – people worried about <br />animals on the roads so it’s kind of dangerous so – I just wanted to check in and hear <br />what you guys are discussing. I am looking at – I’ve been trying to discuss some simple <br />things like just, um, do not feed the, you know, pigs in a couple key spots in my district – <br />where we see people actually feeding the, um, the wild ungulates on a regular basis, <br />um, just to try to, I guess, bring a little awareness to people around the issue, but, um, <br />would love to stay and hear this presentation and hear all your discussions so thank you <br />very much and that’s all for today. <br /> <br />LT: Thank you, ma’am. Are you talking about at the inter-section? <br /> <br />JK: There’s the Komohana and \[unclear\] intersection and also by the little bridge on <br />Waianuenue \[Unclear\] seeing pigs over there. <br /> <br />LT: Yeah, I saw some pop up right by the airport, um, small airport by \[unclear\] and all over <br />the area, yeah. All right, thank you. No other statements. Moving on to Commissioners <br />Report by District agenda item number 4 - Mr. Duerr, District – 1, sir? <br /> <br />4. COMMISSIONER REPORT BY DISTRICT: <br /> <br />a. Each Commissioner will provide updates and share concerns about their respective <br />districts; Commissioners to decide on whether to add those topics at the next meeting <br />and to invite the public to provide testimonies and presentations at their meeting.
