S N D D_ R
FROM: Keith K. Okamoto, Manager-Chief Engineer
SUBJECT: Special Management Area Use Permit Application (PL-SMA-2024-000066)
Applicant- Greg L. Gilliom and Kathleen A. Kissel
Request-To Allow the Demolition of an Existing Single-Family Dwelling and
To Construct a New Single-Family Dwelling and Associated Improvements
Tax Map Key 6-9-006:014
We have reviewed the subject application and have the following comments.
Please be informed that there is an existing 5/8-inch meter, which allows an average daily usage of 400
gallons. Presently, the average daily usage is 1,038 gallons, which is equivalent to three (3) units of
water and exceeds the capacity of the existing meter.
The Department' s existing water system facilities provide cannot additional water at this time.
Extensive improvements and additions, which may include, but not limited to source, storage, booster
pumps, transmission, and distribution facilities, would be required. Currently, sufficient funding is not
available from the Department for such improvements and no time schedule is set.
The Department recommends that the applicant implement conservation practices to reduce the amount
of potable water usage. The Department has no objection to this application, subject to the applicant
understanding and accepting that the Department cannot provide additional water at this time.
Should there be any questions, please contact Mr. Ryan Quitoriano of our Water Resources and
Planning Branch at(808)961-8070, extension 256.
Sincerely yours,
4.2
Keith K.
