Educational programs for youth and adults: <br /> o Provide experiential learning opportunities emphasizing Hawaiian cultural <br /> practices, native plants, and sustainable land stewardship. <br /> o Engage schools and community groups in hands-on educational activities. <br /> 5. Maintenance of Pa'ikapahu Heiau and burial sites: <br /> o Preserve culturally significant areas through careful clearing and restoration <br /> efforts. <br /> o Honor the site's heritage by ensuring proper stewardship. <br /> 6. Canopy care for public safety: <br /> o Trim and remove hazardous trees and branches. <br /> o Maintain trails and areas impacted by fallen or overgrown vegetation. <br /> 7. Event preparation and community engagement: <br /> o Host seasonal cultural festivals, plant sales, and workshops to strengthen <br /> community ties. <br /> B) 2025 Grant (January - June 2026) <br /> 0. Management Planning: <br /> • Review and integrate existing plans, including the Strategic Plan, Community Forest <br /> Plan, and archaeological preservation plans. <br /> • Conduct gap analyses and stakeholder consultations to ensure alignment with community <br /> and cultural objectives. <br /> • Produce a comprehensive Master Plan for long-term Garden development. <br /> 1. Continued maintenance of trails and facilities: <br /> o Sustain the Garden's role as a safe and welcoming community resource. <br /> o Regularly inspect and repair pathways, structures, and visitor areas. <br /> 2. Enhanced canopy care: <br /> o Manage tree health and safety through strategic pruning and removal of hazardous <br /> branches. <br /> o Preserve the ecological integrity of the site while ensuring visitor well-being. <br /> 3. Expanded nursery operations: <br /> o Increase production of native and endemic plant species. <br /> o Establish new infrastructure to accommodate expanded nursery capacity, <br /> including movable sheds and irrigation improvements. <br /> 4. Educational workshops and initiatives: <br /> o Expand public engagement through hands-on learning experiences and events <br /> focused on native plant conservation and cultural heritage. <br /> o Develop new bilingual educational materials and host docent-led tours. <br /> 5.
