The language contained within these sections of GP2040 better
articulate and implement the draft General Plan (attached to this e-mail), including:
• Promoting Active Living Through Recreation, Trails, and Public Access: Public Access
and Trails,
• Preserving Our Cultural and Historical Legacies: Native Hawaiian Values and Practices,
• Preserving Our Cultural and Historical Legacies: Multi -cultural Heritage,
• Preserving Our Cultural and Historical Legacies: Historic Preservation
• Protecting Scenic Resources
Mahalo for this opportunity to testify and provide additional information to assist in this most
important task any Planning Commission can undertake.
Moku Loa (Hawaii Island) Group, Sierra Club
We work hard to advance Sierra Club's mission to explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places
of the earth; to practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and
resources; to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and
human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.
