Veterans Advisory Committee — Agenda <br />October 21, 2010 <br />Page 2 <br />8) NEW BUSINESS <br />a) Veterans Cemetery III — West Hawaii - Water Payment <br />Hawaii Water Service Company (HWSC) owns Kona Water Service <br />Company (KWSC), (HWSC) which is the public water utility company that <br />purchased water and wastewater services at Kukio Resort in December 2008. <br />County will be charged for the water used at the West Hawaii Veterans <br />Cemetery III when the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission (HPUC) approves <br />the application. <br />(Director Robert Fitzgerald, Department of Parks and Recreation) <br />b) Veterans Cemeteries — Rule 7, Section 5.02 — Decorations and Offerings <br />There are families digging up dirt to place pots inside holes on graves. <br />Rule 7 states "Potted plants and flowers not more than 2 feet in height may be <br />placed at the grave site, but no plants shall be grown on the grave site..." <br />(Deputy Director Clayton Honma, Department of Parks and Recreation) <br />9) EX- OFFICIO MEMBERS <br />10) ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />11) NEXT MEETING — NOVEMBER 18, 2010, 3:00 PM <br />(Hilo Location - Office of the Prosecuting Attorney) <br />(Kona Location - West Hawaii Mayor's Office - Videoconference) <br />12) ADJOURNMENT <br />The meeting place is accessible for persons with physical disabilities. <br />Persons who need special accommodations to attend this meeting should <br />call 961 -8311 at least five (5) days prior to meeting date. <br />NOTICE TO LOBBYISTS <br />If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk <br />within five days of becoming a lobbyist. {Article 15, Section 2- 91.3(b), Hawaii <br />County Code} <br />A lobbyist means "any individual engaged for pay or other consideration <br />who spends more than five hours in any month or $275 in any six -month <br />period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative <br />action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public <br />officials." {Article 15, Section 2- 91.3(a)(6), Hawaii County Code} <br />
