CABANAS: So, Mr. Hong, we have Communication number 24-14, received on <br />September 12'—and, of course, Ms. Tavares is from the Office of the Corporation Counsel <br />approaching the dais, representing the County Fire Department. <br />(At this time, Ms. Sherilyn K. Tavares, Deputy Corporation Counsel, Office of the <br />Corporation Counsel, came forward. Mr. Ted H. S. Hong, Esquire, Legal Counsel for <br />Mr. Jonah Kaye, Appellant, were already seated at the dais.) <br />CHR. CABANAS: So, let me read the communication again —Communication number 24-14, <br />received on September 12, 2024, from Ted H. S. Hong, Esquire, on behalf of Appellant <br />appealing the following action by the County of Hawai`i's Fire Department —recruitment and <br />examination. So, the individual has filed an appeal —named in the appeal are the Fire Chief <br />Kazuo Todd and Assistant Chief Darwin Okinaka. <br />And, Mr. Hong, this person has not indicated whether he would want an open hearing or a closed <br />hearing? <br />MR.
