TESTIMONY: Hawaii County General Plan 2045: Leeward Planning Commission <br /> January 16-17, 2025 p. 6 <br /> The larger picture is one of critical interest. Because fracking and other technologies <br /> that impact the subsurface can influence the surface and atmospheric environment it is <br /> worthwhile to address it as a concern in the General Plan. Hawaii's social, cultural, <br /> economic, health, safety, and quality of life domains among others depend on <br /> sustainability of the environment. There is a chance to minimize additional negative <br /> impacts in the future.
