Merit Appeals Board <br />May 24, 2024 <br />Okay, so we're looking at the appeal for the Appellant, who is a County employee, and the date <br />we're looking at is July 15'', 2024. It's a Monday, we're looking at starting at 10 a.m. in the <br />Hilo Council Chambers of the Hawaii County Building, 25 Aupuni Street, First Floor, Room <br />1401, in Hilo, Hawaii. <br />And the deadlines for the parties the Appellant and the County are as followsI'm going to <br />announce it, but we will send written notification to the Appellant and to your office. So, the <br />deadline for parties to submit their documents, exhibits, witness list, motions, memorandums —is <br />June 10 h, close of business, 4:30 p.m. <br />The next deadline is a deadline for parties to respond, the responsive pleadings will be June 25', <br />2024, close of business, 4:30 p.m. <br />So, the first deadline, June 10h is 15 calendar days prior to June 25 h deadline; and the June 25 h <br />deadline is 20 calendar days prior to the July 15�' hearing date. <br />Both parties, the Appellant and the County —meaning your office —would need to submit all <br />documents to the Board's Secretary, who is Glynis Yamada, via email and regular mail or hand - <br />delivered —and to the opposing parry. <br />And the documents that are submitted, MAB requires 1-original and 8-copies each for all <br />submittals. <br />Any questions? <br />MR. LEE: No. Thank you. <br />CHR. CABANAS: Okay. So, Board members, are you in agreement with the date for the <br />hearing for the Appellant, on July 15'', 2024, which is a Monday, at 10 a.m., in the Hilo Council <br />Chambers of the Hawaii County Building, in Hilo, Hawaii, at 25 Aupuni Street, First Floor, <br />Room 1401; and the deadlines of June 10h and the second deadline of June 25 h. I need a motion <br />for that and a second. <br />MS. MATHEWS: So moved. <br />MR. KUNZ: Second. <br />CHR. CABANAS: Any discussion? If not, I'll start a rollcall vote with Ms. Mathews. <br />MS.
