HONG: Our first and only witness is this morning, is Jonah Kaye. <br />(At this time, Mr. Jonah Kaye, Water Safety Officer II, Fire Department, came forward.) <br />CHR. CABANAS: Okay. So, Mr. Kaye, thank you for coming up to the counter here. I need to <br />swear you in, so if you could raise your right hand —and do you swear to tell the truth, the whole <br />truth, and nothing but the truth? <br />MR. KAYE: Yes. <br />CHR. CABANAS: Thank you. <br />MR. HONG: Sir, would you state your name —for the record spell your last name? <br />MR. KAYE: My name is Jonah Kaye. And my last name is spelled K A Y E. <br />MR. HONG: All right. Thanks, Jonah. How old are you? <br />MR. KAYE: I'm 48 years -old. <br />MR. HONG: And could you tell us your address, please? <br />MR. KAYE: Nineteen -A West Kawili Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720. <br />MR. HONG: Okay. Are you married? <br />MR. KAYE: No. <br />MR. HONG: Do you have any kids? <br />MR. KAYE: Yeah. I have three sons. <br />MR. HONG: How old are they? <br />MR. KAYE: Nineteen, 20, and 22. <br />MR. HONG: Okay. Tell us about your educational background, starting from where you <br />graduated from high school and when, and then work up. <br />MR. KAYE: I graduated from Hammond High School in Colombia, Maryland, in 1994. And <br />then, I went to college at UH-Manoa, and I graduated in 1999 with a degree in (inaudible).
