Comm. 25-008 <br /> Illi �� 6i'' ;;; illli IIIIIIIVi � <br /> IIU IIU `� <br /> M <br /> � lioi " liii IIIIIIU� <br /> 1/28/2025 <br /> Executive Board SUBJECT: SUPPORT <br /> Lisa Lehua Kaulukukui Aloha to the County of Hawaii Public Access, Open Space, and Natural <br /> President Resource Preservation Commission (PONC), <br /> James Kimo Sanborn <br /> I am writing to express our Foundation's strong support for the <br /> Vice President acquisition of the parcels TMKs 3-7-9-5-4, 3-7-9-5-15, 3-7-9-5-5, 3-7-9-5- <br /> Clarence Kalimahana 14, and 3-7-9-5-89 under the County's Public Access, Open Space, and <br /> Young Natural Resource Preservation Commission (PONC) program. These <br /> Secretary parcels, located in the lands of Kuamo'o and Ma'ihi 2 ahupua'a are of <br /> Kelli Bond immense historical, cultural, and ecological significance and deserve to <br /> be preserved for the benefit of the community and future generations. <br /> Interim Treasurer <br /> As part of the historically significant Battle of Kuamo'o, these lands are <br /> Directors home to sacred and the 1819 Battle of Kuamo'o burial sites,two <br /> Erin Henderson-Lacerdo heiau(Lonohelemoa and Pio'a), habitation areas, and historic mauka- <br /> makai trails. It is imperative that these sites are safeguarded. The <br /> James Kaulukukui,Jr. acquisition of these properties would ensure their protection and allow <br /> Stephanie Mcvitty for proper stewardship under Aloha 'Aina Kuamo'o and the County's <br /> Michelle Keli'ipio-Lee guidance. <br /> Preserving these lands aligns with the PONC program's mission to <br /> Kupuna Advisors protect HawaiTs unique cultural and natural resources. Beyond the <br /> Lilinoe Keli'ipioYoung physical protection of significant sites,the acquisition would also foster <br /> opportunities for education, cultural practices, and a deeper connection <br /> M.
