(GROUP ENTERS DA COCO SHACK)
(VINCENT'COCO VINNY' ZALDIVAR GIVES PRESENTATION AT THE BAR)
Zaldivar: This is Da Coco Shack where we just got the new floors in, ocean floors
and bar stools, we measured it out, we can get six to eight in here. We have Ike's
Sandwiches coming in which there's 120 Ike's Sandwiches on the mainland, they've
already got a huge following of people ready to come in. So, we're waiting on Cisco
to bring us some supplies and whatnot for the sandwiches. We have fresh cocos
(coconuts) now, sold about 200 coconuts this last week. This right here is custom tools,
had a fresh coconut this morning, but basically this pops right on here and I can get
coconut water fresh. We also can open up fresh, cut it flat and put a straw and this also
makes a hole. Now here we source all local Hawaiian products, so all the coffees are
from the different islands, Molokai, Hilo, Kona, Maui. Island Princess is one of the only
companies now that's actually growing, manufacturing, and distributing, and all the
other companies have properties here but mac nuts are just hitting the ground and
they're importing and stuff. So, we want to keep everything as local as possible so
that's why we chose them as our partners as well as the coffee. Any questions?
Okabe: Any questions Commissioners?
There was no discussion by Commissioners.
Gonzalez: We'll head back out the front door to Ali`i Drive.
(GROUP EXITS DA COCO SHACK AND CONVENES IN FRONT OF THE
ENTRANCE)
So, before we proceed through the property, take note that this grassy area between
Ali`i Drive and the front of the building is the limited common area that has been
discussed for possible future outdoor seating, so you guys can visualize the area,
okay but that's not what they're asking for now.
So the route will take us through the Kona Bali Kai lobby towards the bathrooms located
in the laundry facility next.
(GROUP HEADS TO THE BATHROOM IN THE LAUNDRY FACILITY)
Gonzalez: Mr. Chair, I would follow the resident manager.
(GROUP ENTERS THE LAUNDRY FACILITY)
Mantanez: We have signages, you noticed? The restrooms do take a key fob, and
these key fobs are dedicated to each unit. One, each unit gets one key fob.
Gonzalez: For the recording, can you identify yourself when you're talking?
MINUTES - LIQUOR COMMISSION SITE VISIT AND PUBLIC HEARING/MEETING - THURSDAY.
