CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL: <br />Commissioners attending the meeting from private locations shall advise if any <br />person is with them (except for the names of minors). <br /> <br />2. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS: <br />Interested persons who want to provide oral testimony on any agenda item may <br />do so now, or at the time the specific agenda item is called. <br /> <br />3. PRESENTATION: <br />a. Presentation by Chuck Flaherty on the Hawai’i County draft General Plan <br />2045, Comprehensive Review as it relates to public access, recreation, <br />trails, cultural and environmental resources. <br /> <br />4. NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />a. Discussion and Decision-making: The Commission intends to discuss and <br />decide on a written draft for testimony to submit to the Hawaiʻi County <br />Council regarding the Hawaiʻi County Planning Department’s “Final <br />Recommended Draft General Plan 2045” and its recommendations relating <br />to the preservation of subsistence hunting, fishing and traditional and <br />cultural gathering rights. <br /> <br />5. ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br /> <br />a. Next Meeting: July 15, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. <br />25 Aupuni Street, Puna Conference Room, 1501, Hilo, HI 96720. <br /> <br />6. ADJOURNMENT. <br />Executive Session: This Commission anticipates it may convene in one or more executive <br />sessions regarding the above matters listed on the agenda, pursuant to HRS Sections 92-4 and <br />92-5 (a)(4), for the purpose of consulting with the Board’s attorney on questions and issues <br />pertaining to the Commission’s powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities. A two-thirds <br />(2/3) vote pursuant to Hawai‘i Revised Statute Section 92-4 is necessary to hold an executive <br />session. Executive sessions are closed to the public. <br /> <br />Note: This meeting shall be automatically recessed for up to 30 minutes to restore communication <br />when audiovisual communication cannot be maintained with all Commission members <br />participating in the meeting or with the “in-person” location identified in this agenda. This meeting <br />may be in-person when either audiovisual communication is restored, or audio-only <br />communication is established after an unsuccessful attempt to restore audiovisual <br />communication.
