POLICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />July 18, 2025 <br />COMMENDATIONS <br /> <br />Six (6) commendations involving nine (9) personnel were received since the last <br />commission meeting in recognition of outstanding services. <br /> <br /> <br />SOUTH HILO <br />1. Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Marla Malinski expressed their gratitude to Officer <br />Gyasi Williams for being exceptionally professional, empathetic, and thorough <br />when their wallets were stolen. <br /> <br />2. Police Officer III Jayce Carvalho of the Criminal Investigations Section <br />recognized Officers Chuck Cobile, Debney Jaramillo, and Blane Kenolio for their <br />hard work and crucial role in a burglary investigation, resulting in the arrest of the <br />suspect. <br />3. Police Officer III Jayce Carvalho of the Criminal Investigations Section <br />recognized Officer Devon Manuel for his crucial role in apprehending a wanted <br />fugitive. <br /> <br />4. Detective Zenas Pacheco recognized Officer Wyatt Kaili-Leong for his exemplary <br />work, dedication, and commitment throughout the year, being directly responsible <br />for 13 felony arrests, 34 narcotics related investigations, and seizure of significant <br />quantities of illegal narcotics. <br />KONA <br />1. Ms. Samantha Haney commended Officers John Harvey and Adam Hanes for <br />their patience and empathy shown to a woman in a mental health crisis. <br />KAU <br />1. Ms. Tracii Wraith extended her gratitude to Officer Jake Villa and the men and <br />women of the Kau district for going above and beyond to return her lost wallet <br />and items. <br /> <br />
