STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC – Pursuant to HRS 92-3 interested persons that want to <br />provide oral testimony may do so either at the time the board takes public statements on the agenda <br />or at the time the specific agenda item is called or as otherwise allowed at the sole discretion of the <br />Chair. <br />BUSINESS OF THE AGENCY <br />1.DLNR Update on Banyan Drive:Candace Martin, Acting District Land Agent, Hawai`i <br />District Land Office to provide a report of recent DLNR activities on Banyan Drive. <br />2. <br />Peninsula: HCDA Executive Director Craig Nakamoto to provide an update on HCDA’s <br />planning study <br />3. Discussion on the Repurposing of the Former Uncle Billy’s Hilo Bay Hotel Site: <br />Discussion with DLNR representatives, State and County legislators, County of Hawai’i <br />Banyan Drive Hawai`i Redevelopment Agency members on the <br />Mayor Alameda, and <br />repurposing of the former Uncle Billy's Hilo Bay Hotel site, including the potential for the <br />County of Hawai`i to assume stewardship of the site. <br />ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS <br />1. Approval of meeting minutes from the May 30, 2025 <br />Redevelopment Agency meeting. <br />2. Scheduling of next meeting date. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Pursuant to § 92-3, HRS, interested persons who want to provide oral <br />Submitting Written Testimony: <br />testimony may do so either at the time the committee takes public statements on the agenda, or at the time <br />the specific agenda item is called. Please note that public testimony may be limited to three (3) minutes <br />in length per agenda item. Those wishing to testify in person should register with the Commission <br />Secretary at the in-person location at the meeting. Those submitting written testimony at the meeting <br />should bring 6 copies for distribution. Testimony may be submitted by (1) mail to Hilo Planning <br />; or (2) by email to <br />Department at <br />planning@hawaiicounty.gov. In order for the Commissioners to timely receive written testimony and <br />to be in compliance with Chapter 92, HRS, any interested person who wants to submit written testimony <br />should submit his/her/their written testimony, which shall be received by the Commission, by <br />WEDNESDAY AUGUST 20, 2025 BY NOON. Please submit separate testimony for each item. Timely <br />written testimony will be distributed to the Commissioners by AUGUST 20, 2025 by 3:00 p.m. All oral <br />and written testimony will be public record. <br />Optional Alternative to Provide Remote Oral Testimony: The public may provide verbal <br />testimony at the meeting location provided or by joining Zoom.
