Hawaii %720 <br />Phone (808) %1-8288 <br />Fax (808) %1-8742 <br />RECEIVED <br />V11) <br />JUL - 2 2025 <br />Dept. of Liquor Control <br />HILO <br />This is in response to your e-mail request received on March 7, 2025, inquiring if a <br />microbrewery is permitted in the Downtown Hilo Commercial District (CDH) zoning district <br />and if the manufacturing of alcoholic kombucha at your 230 Kekuanaoa Street is allowed in the <br />Limited Industrial (ML) zoning district. <br />A microbrewery is considered an accessory use in a restaurant and/or bar which are permitted <br />uses in the Downtown Hilo Commercial District (CDH) zoning District. Section 25-7-22. <br />Permitted uses. (c) states: Buildings and uses normally considered accessory to the above uses <br />shall also be nennitted used in the limited Industrial (ML) zoned district. <br />After further review we have also determined that the manufacturing of alcoholic kombucha is <br />considered as an accessory to uses pennitted in the Limited Industrial (ML) zoned district. <br />141. <br />Section 25-5-W (d) of the Zoning code states: <br />"Buildings and uses normally considered directly accessory to the permitted in this section shall <br />also he permitted in the Limited Industrial (ML) district.
