SWCA performed a literature review during <br /> preparation of the field survey. The purpose of the literature review <br /> was to conduct a preliminary desktop habitat assessment to evaluate <br /> whether special-status species (or their habitats)and sensitive natural <br /> communities are known to occur in the survey area. An SWCA <br /> biologist completed a survey of the portion of the Waiakea stream <br /> included in the Wailoa Flood Control Channel project area.
