CABANAS: Mr. Thomas. <br /> <br />MR. THOMAS: Aye. <br /> <br />CHR. CABANAS: Ms. Cabanas—aye. <br /> <br />Four ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Communication No. 25-05, Received On June 12, 2025, From Appellant, Appealing The <br />Following Action By The Hawaiʻi County Office Of The Mayor: An Employment Action <br />Taken Under Chapter 76, Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes (Board Action Required: Setting A <br />Hearing Date And Deadlines For Submittal Of Documents) <br /> <br />CHR. CABANAS: So, Ms. Sumera and Mr. Kalilikane, Jr., you can come up—and Mr. Disher, <br />could you come up to the dais up front and make sure your mics. are on. <br /> <br />(At this time, Mr. Steven Kalilikane, Jr., Appellant, and Ms. Jodi Sumera, HGEA Union <br />agent and representative for the Appellant; and Mr. Mark Disher, Deputy Corporation <br />Counsel, Office of the Corporation Counsel, came forward.) <br /> <br />CHR. CABANAS: Also, I noted that Mr. Kali—you may have a seat, Mr. Kalilikane and <br />Ms. Sumera, Mr. Kalilikane requested a closed hearing. Do you still want a closed hearing? It’s <br />up to you. <br /> <br />MR. KALILIKANE: Yes. <br /> <br />CHR. CABANAS: Okay, ‘cause if it is closed, then I’m going to ask all other individuals to <br />wait outside of the Council Chambers while we take up your matter. Okay? <br /> <br />MR.
