Police Commission Meeting Page 3 April 19, 2002 <br />EXECUTIVE SESSSION <br />To consider discipline and charges against officers or employees of the Hawai'i County <br />Police Department where consideration of matters affecting privacy will be involved and a <br />closed session is requested, and to consult with Corporation Counsel on questions and <br />issues pertaining to the commission's powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities. <br />(Pursuant to HRS 92 -5 (2) and Hawai'i County Charter Section 13 -20 (b). <br />• INVESTIGATION AND DELIBERATION OF COMPLAINTS <br />Complaint HPC 02 -06: Complainant alleged that an officer served her husband a <br />TRO that stated he was to have no contact with their son. The officer later transported <br />both of them together to his mother's house. The officer assisted in violating the TRO. <br />Complaint HPC 02 -07: Complainant called the police station and did not like the <br />manner in which an officer responded to her call. She alleged that he was not truthful. <br />Complaint HPC 02 -10: Complainants were involved in an incident of disorderly <br />conduct. The wife was arrested. They alleged that during the arrest, an officer was <br />overbearing and used excessive and malicious force. The complaint was filed almost a <br />year after the incident. <br />Complaint HPC 02 -12: Complainant purchase a vehicle and did not receive the <br />registration papers. She alleged that she spoke to an officer twice regarding this and <br />he did not follow- through or make a report on her complaint. <br />• STATUS REPORT OF COMPLAINTS REFERRED TO CHIEF CORREA <br />ACTION ON EXECUTIVE SESSION MATTERS <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />The next monthly meeting is scheduled for May 17, 2002, at the Keauhou Beach Resort, <br />78 -6740 Alii Dr., Kona. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />NOTE: If you require an accommodation or auxiliary aid and /or services to participate in <br />this meeting (i.e., sign language interpreter, large print, etc.), please call 961 -8412. <br />
