Hawai'i Police Commission <br /> Special Meeting Agenda <br /> January 29, 2026 <br /> Page 2 <br /> • Offer of employment, including conditions such as a criminal background <br /> check and background investigation; <br /> • Order of interviews: The Commission will discuss the order and scheduling of <br /> the interviews; and <br /> • Any other aspect of the selection process. <br /> The Commission may enter a closed executive session under HRS §§ 92-4 and 92- <br /> 5(a)(4) to consult with the board's attorney on questions and issues pertaining to the <br /> board's powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities related to the selection <br /> process of the Police Chief. <br /> V. POLICE CHIEF INTERVIEWS <br /> The Commission will interview the candidates for the position of Chief of Police, listed <br /> below in alphabetical order: <br /> • Chad Janis <br /> • Jennifer Krauss <br /> • Anthony Kumamaru <br /> • Reed Mahuna <br /> • John Matagi <br /> • Kenneth Quiocho <br /> • Timothy Wilson <br /> • Paul Yang <br /> VI. SELECTION OF POLICE CHIEF <br /> The Commission may discuss and decide which candidate is the best fit for Chief of <br /> Police, which includes a conditional offer of employment to the chosen candidate. <br /> VII. ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> The next regular meeting is scheduled for Friday, January 30, at 9.00 a.m., at the <br /> West Hawaii Civic Center, Building A Council Chambers, Ane Keohokalole Highway, <br /> Kailua-Kona, HI. <br /> VIII.
