Regular Session Minutes <br />December 19, 2025 <br />Page 9 <br />Commissioner, with the results compiled and returned to the Commission as a final list <br />of interview questions. Commissioner Yamada seconded the motion. There was no <br />discussion, and the motion carried. <br />The Commission also discussed the interview format and agreed that Commissioners <br />would rotate asking questions during the interviews. <br />Motion:Commissioner Yamada moved that during the interview process, <br />Commissioners rotate asking the interview questions. Commissioner Lacerte seconded <br />the motion. There was no discussion, and the motion carried unanimously. <br />DCC Salas-Ferguson raised the issue of interview scheduling and suggested that the <br />Commission consider a formal motion to establish interview logistics. He recommended <br />that candidates not being interviewed wait outside the meeting room while interviews <br />are conducted. The Commission discussed scheduling interviews in one-hour <br />increments per candidate, proposed interview times, and a lunch recess at 12:00 p.m. <br />The use of time limits per question was also discussed, with the Chair serving as <br />timekeeper. <br />Ms. Simmons clarified that she would provide the application packets to Ms. Correa for <br />distribution to the Commission. DCCSalas-Ferguson reminded the Commission that all <br />application materials are confidential and must be secured appropriately. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />and Procedure, the members of the Commission shall elect annually, in December, a <br />Chair and Vice Chair to serve for the following calendar year. <br />Commissioner Lacerte noted that Chair Robinson and Commissioner Bertsch would no <br />longer be members of the Commission. Chair Robinson confirmed that their terms were <br />ending, and Commissioner Buckman stated that he would be resigning from the <br />Commission. <br />Nomination for Chair:Commissioner Tavares nominated Commissioner Yamada to <br />serve as Chair. Commissioner Yamada accepted the nomination. There being no <br />further nominations, Commissioner Tavares moved to close nominations, which was <br />seconded by Commissioner Botelho. With no discussion, the motion carried <br />unanimously. Commissioner Yamada was elected Chair. <br />Nomination for Vice Chair:Chair Robinsonthen opened nominations for Vice Chair. <br />Commissioner Tavares nominated Commissioner Botelho.
