Liquor Commission <br />The Hidden Nene, LLC <br />dba The Hidden Nene <br />Page 3 <br />KIND OF BUSINESS: Applicant is currently open and operating as a speakeasy type venue under <br />Puna Chocolate Company's liquor license, selling craft cocktails and mocktails, bar bites, tapas, <br />charcuterie board items, and desserts. <br />Applicant is open seven (7) days a week, from 12:00 p.m. — 12:00 a.m. the following day. Employment <br />consists of approximately twelve (12) employees, (10) of whom are certified by the Department of <br />Liquor Control to supervise the sale, service and consumption of liquor. <br />Applicant currently has live entertainment in the form of a soloist or duo to play jazz music or cover <br />acoustics. Since the proposed licensed premises is small enough, they do not use amplification for their <br />live entertainment. <br />COMMERCIAL LEASE AGREEMENT: This Commercial Lease Agreement ("Lease") was <br />executed on January 1, 2024, by and between Puna Chocolate Company of 74-54606 Pawai PI, Ste 8, <br />Kailua-Kona, HI 96740, USA ("Landlord") and The Hidden Nene, LLC, ("Tenant"), with the term of <br />said Lease commencing at 12:00 noon on January 1, 2024, and ending at 12:00 noon on December 31, <br />2029. <br />ZONING: Downtown Hilo Commercial. <br />SURROUNDING AREA: Survey of the surrounding area reveals that there is one church, Central <br />Christian Church, and one temple, Taishoji Soto Mission, located within 500 feet of the proposed <br />licensed premises. <br />There are no schools and no liquor licenses with the same class and kind located within 500 feet of the <br />licensed premises. <br />At the present time there are 64 of the same class and 58 of the same kind of liquor licenses being <br />lawfully exercised in the County of Hawaii. <br />SECTION 281-56(6), HRS: The applicant is qualified and has complied with the minimum <br />requirements set forth under Chapter 281, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended, relative to the making <br />and filing of this application. <br />V <br />&OAJ Ok <br />4ZO'ONNK.BERTELMANN <br />Liquor Control Licensing Tech II <br />
