HAWAII COUNTY POLICE COMMISSION <br />REGULAR SESSION MINUTES <br />DECEMBER 30, 2008 <br />DEPARTMENT OF LIQUOR CONTROL, HILO <br />INVOCATION <br />Commissioner Kaoiwi gave an invocation. <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chair Lassiter called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m. <br />ROLL CALL (A quorum was present.) <br />Present: Pudding Lassiter, Chair Also Present <br />Tom Whittemore, Vice chair <br />Richard J. Behenna, Commissioner <br />Louis Kaoiwi, Commissioner <br />Karolyn P. Lundkvist, Commissioner <br />Melvin S. Morimoto, Commissioner <br />Anita Politano Steckel, Commissioner <br />Michael B. Sumja, Commissioner <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Harry S. Kubojiri, Deputy Chief <br />Paul K. Ferreira, Assistant Chief <br />Lincoln S. Ashida, Corporation Counsel <br />Josie Pelayo, Secretary <br />Vice Chair Whittemore moved to approve the agenda. Commissioner Lundkvist seconded <br />the motion, and it carried unanimously. <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEM — None <br />CORRESPONDENCE 08 -29 <br />From Deputy Police Chief Harry S. Kubojiri notifying the police commission that he would <br />like to appoint Assistant Police Chief Paul K. Ferreira as his Deputy Police Chief when he <br />takes office as the new Police Chief. He requests that the commission confirm this <br />appointment. <br />Commissioner Sumja moved to confirm the appointment of Paul K. Ferreira as Deputy <br />Police Chief.
