Shoreline Park Management and Public Access Plan <br /> a <br /> lag Purpose <br /> This Shoreline Park Management and Public Access Plan (hereafter referred to as the "Plan"), for <br /> the planned 140-acre shoreline park at the Villages at Hokukano was prepared by Oceanside 1250, <br /> in consultation with representatives of the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), the <br /> County of Hawaii Planning Department, and an advisory group consisting of concerned individuals <br /> and representatives of various community groups and resource organizations. In addition to <br /> meeting the regulatory requirements of various State and County approvals related to the Villages <br /> at Hokukano development, the Plan serves as a guide for the implementation of park improvements <br /> and the management of the shoreline park area (hereafter referred to as the "Park"). <br /> Early in the planning process, Oceanside 1250 and members of its advisory group met on several' <br /> occasions to identify areas of concern and prepare a set of goals and objectives that would serve as <br /> a basis for formulating the Plan. Theseoals and objectives g � ctives are as follows: <br /> foals <br /> To preserve and enhance the natural, historical and cultural resources of the park area. <br /> To preserve and protect the park's scenic resources, including important view points, <br /> landscapes and topographic features. <br /> To increase public awareness of the park area's natural, cultural and historic resources. <br /> • <br /> To provide, improve and protect public shoreline access opportunities in the park area. <br /> To provide for the proper and safe use of the Park area. <br /> Objectives <br /> Comply with applicable laws, rules and regulations. <br /> Designate and maintain appropriate public access routes and parking. <br /> Establish dedicated easements providing for continued public access to and over the <br /> coastline park area. <br /> t <br /> The Villages at Hokukano <br /> Paget <br />
