That's what I have for my district report. Moving on to Pono. Not sure if you have any
issues in your district to report since this is your first meeting.
KK Kapono Kuikahi: One of the issues is from the Hilo landfill workers which involves a
restaurant owner in a blue truck who is dumping slop. The guy comes at night. He's
dumping it because those gates open, the front gate open, the inner is closed, but
he's dumping it. He just dumps his slop pile right there.
My friends are the workers;they told me they see him. So,they don't know the guy
yet, but they're trying to find out.
TWC Technically, there's a law,you cannot dump or feed any slop anymore.
KK Okay. And pigs as well, guys just leaving them on the side of the road.
TWC Okay.Thank you for your report. Moving onto District 7,Abel Aquino.
AA Hello,Abel, here, I'm getting a lot of good feedback from the target boat captains
and local fishermen about the FADS being back out there. It's nice. The summer fish
are gonna show up soon and everything in place is good. People had some
questions about opening a 3rd manta ray spot in Kailua Bay. Like the old Jet ski
Island. And, I told them I haven't heard anything about it, but, if you guys do, let me
know.
TWC Moving onto David Okumura.
DO David Okumura, District 8: 1 don't have anything to report on today, thank you for
getting me on board here looking forward to getting some data about what's going on
in West Hawaii here. Kona is a very heavily used area so just trying to catch up on all
your previous minutes and what right now and hopefully that's something to bring
back to you guys'next meeting.
TWC That's for sure. No problem. I appreciate the information and welcome again.
DO Thankyou.
TWC And now we're moving on to Justin Ackerman, District 9.
JA Justin, District 9.Two things, the only thing I've noticed of late is driving up Waikoloa
Beach Road, I noticed what appeared to be tall goat fencing going in on the Mauka
side of the road. I hadn't seen anything about that. I was going to reach out to
Councilman Hustace about it,see if there's any other roads that are going to be
fenced. I found that interesting. The only other thing I had questions about was has
anyone seen any reports on the ungulate roundup on Saddle Road that happened?
Any numbers or how well that went.
TWC No reports or numbers that I know of regardingthat.
4
